Face recognition
Time to jump on another Internet memetic bandwagon. I ran across the MyHeritage Find the Celebrity in You demo page on Torrid Midnight’s blog, A Work in Progress.
It works like this: you submit a headshot, and the clever algorithms at MyHeritage figure out which celebrities you most resemble.
According to their system, I most resemble Rick James, which is a bit unfortunate. I can sort of see a resemblance, though, mostly in the shapes of the nose and lips.
Fortunately, it’s possible to filter results by gender, and the next celebrity on the list is supermodel Tyra Banks. I wasn’t exactly aiming for supermodel when I created my avatar, but it’s somewhat flattering looking a little like the fourth highest-paid supermodel on the planet.
Further down the list, my avatar resembles Italian glamor actress Gina Lollobrigida, Miss India 2001 Celina Jaitley, and surprisingly enough, comedian Lucille Ball.
