Silver Bells & Golden Spurs
Back in the middle of March, a small assortment of ne’er-do-wells (including yours truly) descended upon Bedazzle Studios’ set for their film Silver Bells & Golden Spurs. The set was a remarkably-detailed build, and in true Bedazzle fashion, it comprised nearly all 15,000 prims permitted in the sim.
Though the lag was intense in spots because of the excess primmage, it made for some amazingly beautiful scenery. The texturing was superb, and the inclusion of scads of little details made for realism like I rarely see in any 3D environment, let alone Second Life.
I was particularly impressed with the level of detail in areas that never make an appearance in the film. Most of the buildings are, in fact, facades, and they aren’t much to look at from outside the town, but up and down the street there are a ton of details.
The Bedazzle team thoughtfully provided some entertainment for those people brave enough to visit the sim. Nothing like capital punishment to entertain the entire family.
Of course, this being Second Life, things quickly devolved into their usual level of pandemonium. Once the assembled gawkers had tired of looking at the scenery and hanging themselves, out came the toys.
